An Intro to Stanley W. Joehlin and
Concepts for Analyzing
Glass Tempering Problems

Stan Joehlin has more than 50 years of experience in glass tempering and spent nearly 35 years offering lectures at glass fabrication seminars hosted by various industry associations. His goal is to provide guidance to anyone new  to the glass tempering process, and perhaps to anyone encountering a new problem due to process changes that are not understood, or when running a new product.

Over the years, Joehlin has worked to develop this rich content into a teaching tool. The title has evolved to become “Concepts for Analyzing Glass Tempering Problems”.  The content provided in the video series and companion learning tools will provide insight on where to begin to look for the fundamental problem whether the problem is breakage, poor break pattern, controlling stress, warping, roll marking, etc.  The content included attempts to suggest an answer to the question; “What is this fundamental problem, and where do I start to look for a correction?”

In his 50 years of experience there have been many times where an initial solution was missed. This content includes many of his trials and experiences where the solution was missed with first observations and a lot of glass was broken until the solution was found. This valuable insight will help users avoid similar mistakes thus increasing company profits and furthering the understanding of what occurs in your tempering system.
