GANA Video
Podcasting to Debut at K-BIS
The new GANA Video Podcasting website will be
unveiled officially during next week's
Kitchen/Bath Industry Show and Conference (K-BIS)
in Chicago. GANA staff will be at the show
representing the glass and glazing industry, as
well as visiting with members and potential
members exhibiting at the show. As a part
of those visits, GANA will be interviewing
attendees and exhibitors and releasing a nightly
video podcast from the show. Each night,
visitors to the GANA website will be able to get
a hands-on description of the day's actions and
events, as well as see new products being
exhibited in Chicago.
The GANA Video Podcast is the newest feature for
the GANA website. Future podcasts will
feature interviews with high profile members of
the glass and glazing industry, as well as daily
reports from Glass Fabrication, the AIA Annual
Expo, GlassBuild America and more.

The Dark Side
by
Jeff
Thredgold, CSP, President, Thredgold Economic
Associates
As a long-time observer of the U.S. economy and
financial markets, my writing and speaking have
typically found me to err on the side of
optimism…of seeing changes as providing new
opportunities, as opposed to our being too
fearful of change…of typically seeing the glass
as half full rather than half empty…
…I see it as being realistic and optimistic.

April - The Ten Commandments of Good Safety
Habits
Below is a list of 10 safety habits. Practice
these as part of your everyday safety routine
and they will help keep you injury free.
1. Set Your Own Standards. Don’t be
influenced by others around you who are
negative. If you fail to wear safety glasses
because others don’t, remember the blindness you
may suffer will be yours alone.

GANA Building Envelope Conference Recap in Vegas
by
Rebecca Kaspari, Executive Director, CGCA
The Glass
Association of North America hosts one of the
crown jewels of our industry’s events, it is
called the Building Envelope Conference. GANA
was gracious enough to invite the Colorado
Glazing Contractors Association to attend back
in 2006 and again this year, two CGCA
representatives, Josie Smith our Association
Treasurer and myself, Rebecca Kaspari, Executive
Director.
I enjoy a well
organized tradeshow as much as the next person.
A ballroom full of suppliers with new products,
fancy displays and informative handouts. Moments
to reconnect face to face with old friends and
business acquaintances from across the country.
However, it seems to me that a distinct problem
is arising. There are too many regional shows to
attend or the alternative, National Glass
tradeshow, is simply too overrun with suppliers
and “looky-loos” snagging free promotional
items.
