ASTM International 2008 Advantage Award Paper
Competition Announced
(W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.) - ASTM
International, one of the world’s largest
standards developing organizations, is accepting
papers for the 2008 ASTM Advantage Award, a
paper competition with prizes up to $15,000. The
award is an opportunity for the users of ASTM
International standards worldwide to convey the
positive outcomes of utilizing an ASTM standard
or a group of ASTM standards.
Original papers are sought
that demonstrate the positive impact of using
ASTM International standards, and which provide
background information and data showing such
values as cost savings, efficiency, market
access, etc. The deadline for submissions is
June 2, 2008. The cash prizes are $15,000 for
the first prize, $10,000 for the second prize,
and $5,000 for the third prize. Winning papers
will be published in ASTM International’s
bimonthly magazine, Standardization News.
ASTM International standards
are the technical underpinnings of global
commerce and have broad reach in today’s
competitive business environment. They make our
world safer, aid in the flow of goods, and are
the companions to regulation. Currently there
are 12,000 ASTM International standards and ASTM
members come from 125 nations.
