Glass Week / BEC Conference Nearing Sell Out
GANA's
upcoming Glass Week and BEC Conference are
approaching sell out numbers, with over 760
attendees registered for the Las Vegas-based
events. The BEC Conference is already the
largest event in its 10+ year history, with more
than 100 attendees over last year's numbers.
Glass Week looks to be as strong as last year as
well.
For a complete agenda of events for both Glass
Week and BEC Conference, please visit the
website at
www.glassweek.com. You may also
register for the events there, but the BEC
Conference is expected to sell out early next
week, upon which a waiting list will be put into
effect.
Glass Week / BEC Conference
Features Electronic Handouts
GANA's
upcoming Glass Week and BEC Conference will
feature a new way of distributing the mass
amount of information available to attendees.
This year, attendees will receive a USB
thumbdrive, sponsored by Pilkington for Glass
Week and PPG Certified Fabricator Network for the BEC Conference, which
contain a variety of documents. Everything
from an attendee list of those who
pre-registered to presentation handouts and
marketing materials from conference sponsors
will be included on the one gigabyte drive.
Each thumbdrive is menu driven with a customized
program to lead attendees to the documents they
need quickly.
"This is a huge difference from our previous
method of providing attendees with reams of
paper," said Brian Pitman, GANA Director of
Marketing and Communications. "Now
attendees will have a much easier way to view,
store and keep the large amount of information
from the conferences which is more
environmentally friendly and will probably
decrease the amount of arm strain."
As part of GANA's efforts to become more "green"
in its practices, USB thumbdrives will also be
given to attendees of the upcoming
Glass Fabrication & Glazing Education Conference
instead of heavy notebooks. Those
attendees to any GANA conference who wish to
review the documents during the conference are
encouraged to bring a laptop computer, which are
being seen more frequently at the events.

February - Accident Prevention: Why Is It
Important to You
Why is it so important to prevent accidents? Do
you view accident prevention as simply a way to
avoid getting hurt? Do you work safely just
because you want to? Perhaps you view accident
prevention as a way of keeping your company
happy or your supervisor off your back. Maybe
you just do it because you have been told to.
