Pilkington Pyrostop™ Fire-Rated Glass Walls
Available with Integrated Blinds
KIRKLAND, Wash. - Pilkington Pyrostop™, a
fire-rated, impact safety-rated, transparent
glass wall panel that also blocks heat transfer,
is now available with integrated Venetian blinds
to enhance privacy and reduce glare.
Distributed by Technical Glass Products (TGP),
Pilkington Pyrostop products block the spread of
flames and smoke, as well as reduce the transfer
of radiant and conductive heat from a fire.
Pilkington Pyrostop also meets impact
requirements of CPSC 16CFR1201 Category I and
Category II. The transparent wall panels are
fire-rated for up to two hours and make an
excellent alternative to a solid wall, allowing
unrestricted amounts of glass. They are ideal
for applications where the aesthetics of glass
are desired and codes require a fire-rated
product for life and property safety.
In instances where users want to control the
amount of light entering a space or visibility
into the space, Pilkington Pyrostop products
with 45- and 60-minute fire ratings can be
combined with manually operable Venetian blinds
included in an insulated glass unit. Usable in
interior spaces, Pilkington Pyrostop with
integrated blinds is well suited for glazed
office fronts within buildings, conference room
windows, private offices, lobbies and other
similar uses. The blinds are encased between
multiple layers of glass, so never need to be
cleaned. In addition, the blinds are available
in a wide range of colors and are fabricated in
the U.S., allowing for short delivery lead
times.
Pilkington Pyrostop products are listed with
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.®, and pass all
fire-rated glazing testing requirements,
including the mandatory hose stream test.
