GANA Glass Informational Bulletins
Released in Rapid Succession

The Glass Association of North America (GANA) released its first Glass Informational Bulletin (GIB) titled Proper Procedures for Cleaning Architectural Glass Products in March 2000, which was followed with two more GIB’s in October 2002.  By the beginning of 2007, the number of Bulletins in GANA’s free online library had grown to a baker’s dozen.  That grew by one in July when the GANA Protective Glazing Committee released their Bulletin on Bullet Resistant Glazing, but the number of Bulletins is increasing quickly with the release of three more in the last quarter of 2007, and a scheduled release of Bulletin #18 in January 2008.  Additionally, several more are in Committee with expected release dates in 2008.

“Once we established the procedure for creating the Bulletins, the different Divisions within GANA have embraced their ability to provide valuable information to the industry,” said Greg Carney, GANA’s Technical Director.  “By providing these documents on our website, we have been able to provide educational information on a number of topics of interest to architects, building owners, general contractors, and glazing contractors as well as glass manufacturers and fabricators.”

The GIB’s are available in the TechCenter portion of the GANA website.  Since their original creation, the Bulletins have been downloaded over a quarter million times.  Here is a complete list of GANA’s GIB’s (click to download):

The 18th GANA GIB about Quench Patterns in tempered glass will be released on the GANA website on January 2, 2008.
