Yet another great meeting is in the books! Fall Conference attendees enjoyed a variety of presentations from industry experts. We reported last week on activities from the first half of the week here. The second half of the meeting featured a broad variety of presentations and discussion topics. In the Tempering Division, participants received an in-depth comparison of ASTM 1048 vs EN 1863 and EN12150 Surface Compression Measurements. During a special brunch presentation, Amy Huff, Trivers Associates shared how her architecture firm developed creative accessibility solutions to the historic St. Louis Old County Courthouse. Participants also received a sneak peek into a new product, “Concepts for Analyzing Glass Tempering Problems” which will launch later this Fall. The “Concepts for Analyzing Glass Tempering Problems” is an educational series produced in partnership with GANA and industry veteran, Stan Joehlin, SW Joehlin, Inc. The series includes a three-part DVD set, a corresponding textbook and several workbooks for viewers to following along. Mr. Stan Joehlin himself attended the Fall Conference and offered highlights of content from the video packages. Finally, the GANA Fall Conference offered the Board, members and staff of GANA to thank Bill Yanek, GANA Executive Vice President for his nine years of service and wish him well on his new endeavor.
